[UPDATE 10/14/2015: Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan announced the easing of certain restrictions on gun ownership on Wednesday in an effort to allow more citizens to bear arms in light of the ongoing wave of Palestinian terror. One of the new measures is a requirement for training once a year, rather than three times a year, as a condition for renewal of gun licenses.]
This just in, happened this morning: Armed Israeli citizen uses his handgun as first responder to engage and stop Palestinian on violent rampage with car and butcher knife. Israel knows the value of citizen first responders. Quick and efficient. When the police arrive, it’s all over.
Indeed, just a few days ago the mayor of Jerusalem issued a call to arms:
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Thursday encouraged all Israelis with a gun license to carry a weapon with them at all times in order to counter a recent wave of Palestinian attacks.
Our leaders in California must also know that terror is coming, as the FBI has warned. Could it be that they do not share our goal of preserving life? Are they willing to sacrifice school children as some sort of depraved Cloward-Piven tactic to scare us into accepting more socialism, thus arrogating power unto themselves? Am I being too cynical?
Note that at :29 in the video, it appears the armed citizen starts to perform a tactical reload, and then aborts (re-inserts mag) due to the miscreant suddenly moving again. Good decision as the miscreant proceeds to throw the knife at him, etc. The “lull” in the gunfight was not much of a lull. In our free handgun dry practice sessions, you will learn an alternate tactical reload method which would likely have solved this problem and allowed the armed citizen to engage again with a new magazine.
