The OC Fair & Event Center has closed the fairgrounds in Costa Mesa the entire weekend of March 25-26, fearing violence may attend a planned Trump march that weekend.
A list of canceled events at the fairgrounds include the Orange County Wine Society’s Wine Extraordinaire, Crossroads of the West Gun Show and the weekly Orange County Market Place. The Heroes Hall veterans museum, Centennial Farm and the equestrian center will be closed and the farm’s food preservation class was canceled.“We were saddened to hear that the OC Event Center has canceled all activities scheduled for that weekend due to the conflict,” the Facebook press release said. “We do hope they decide to keep things as scheduled regardless of our absence.”Fairgrounds officials still plan to keep the property closed during the weekend of the march, regardless of whether it is moved to another location, said Terry Moore, communications director for the Fair & Event Center.“There are still concerns about the event even if the location has been moved because it’s been promoted as being near here,” Moore said.
