Warning shots are almost always a bad idea, but apparently they worked here. Better to present the weapon with convincing demeanor and give verbal warning. Fortunately, it appears no bystanders were injured.
Metro police told News 2 the victim was robbed as she was returning to her apartment. An alert citizen witnessed the robbery and fired warning shots, which scared the suspects away.
