Lack of screening in baggage claim areas a weak point in security? Nonsense. Any additional screening will just push the envelope out, result in more delay and larger congregations of people vulnerable to attack — may make things worse.
The only true weak point here is concealed carry laws which, though better than no carry, tend to promote laziness about carry and even result in gun free zone enactments.
Did the government direct the shooter’s mind to this purpose? Perhaps, nothing would surprise me these days.
I’m more concerned about government controlling minds regarding fetuses and guns. Out of sight is out of mind, and open carry is ultrasound for the Second Amendment.
The attack also exposed another weak point in airport security: While travelers have to take off their shoes, put their carry-on luggage through X-ray machines and pass through metal detectors to reach the gates, many other sections of airports, such as ticket counters and baggage claim areas, are more lightly secured and more vulnerable to attack.
