A few of the Founders did plan for some kind of values transmission. Franklin for example, gave not only his printing business but over 400 diamonds to his daughter, and asked her not to make them into jewelry, which he considered vain and useless. Franklin also gave musical instruments to his son-in-law, on condition that he free his slave.
