Today, after almost 35 years, it appears that there is real momentum behind changing the definition of accredited investor, opening the door to investment opportunities previously unavailable to many individuals. As a result, attorneys may see an uptick in clients seeking legal advice pertaining to potential investments and should be prepared to discuss with clients the changing requirements for accredited investor status.
