At the time of the March 8 shooting, Watsonville police detective Elizabeth Sousa recommended that parents keep their children’s bedrooms away from street-facing windows.
“I personally would make sure that you keep your children towards the end of your home, away from the street, if that’s at all possible,” Sousa said.
