As noted previously, ATF’s new Rule 41F eliminates the Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) signoff requirement for acquiring NFA items, and replaces that with a requirement to notify the CLEO. This new Idaho law ensures privacy of that notification:
Yesterday, Idaho Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter, signed House Bill 478. This important legislation was introduced earlier this year in response to President Barack Obama’s executive actions pertaining to a revised National Firearms Act (NFA) approval protocol. Governor Otter’s signature provides further reaffirmation, in a span of less than one week, that he is willing to stand against Michael Bloomberg’s and Barack Obama’s efforts to erode your Second Amendment rights.
