The average estate plan is seventeen years old. It does not require much imagination to expect California to keep putting the screws to gun owners over such a long period. Instead, it requires imagination to expect freedom to reign in this state, though Trump’s election offers some hope.
Bottom line, whether it is planning for taxes or for gun control, a good estate plan must either be updated frequently, or be flexible, or ideally both.
